| Want to hang with me and other leaders on the Sunshine Coast?

Hi all,

I made seven typing mistakes writing this sentence.

I dislocated my left shoulder recently and mangled the nerves so badly that I don't have full control of parts of my arm and fingers. Have you ever tried typing by slapping the keyboard with cocktail frankfurts? Because that's the equivalent of what is happening in my office right now.

Touch-typing nightmares.

Touch-typing nightmares.

I feel like my struggle to type this email is a pretty good picture of what the last year has felt like for leaders too:

  • Our capacity is lower - we're finding it harder to do things we normally could do blindfolded.

  • Our exhaustion is higher - one leader told me that leadership has felt like "a duck paddling underwater frantically while trying to keep calm on the outside."

  • Combine all that with the endless demands, navigating online and returning to in-person (if that's even possible for you), trying to fit in activities to keep yourself well and it all kind of turns out a bit...

Can you relate?

Can you relate?

That's why I'm excited to share with you something I've been working on.

From August 19-22, I'm facilitating at a retreat for leaders and I'd love you to be there.

Here's some of the highlights:

  • You'll get to spend 4 days with a group of amazing leaders from around Australia, sharing your leadership experiences and hearing from others.

  • It's on the Sunshine Coast, with all kinds of beautiful settings. Think: spending prayer time on Mudjimba beach, followed by a walk in the Noosa National Park and paddle boarding in the Maroochy river, before dinner and worship round the campfire in the hinterlands.

  • Together, we'll help you develop a clearer vision of your God-given calling and how to apply that to your context when you head home.

  • Plenty of downtime for connecting, resting or play.

  • Food, accommodation*, travel and activities are all taken care of for you. You just need to register and organise to get yourself here.
    * Of course, if you'd like to extend your trip and have a few days to yourself either side, you're welcome to get yourself an AirBnb. We know some good ones!

  • It's on the Sunshine Coast. Where it's 20 degrees every day. In WINTER.

Just awful Sunshine Coast weather.

Just awful Sunshine Coast weather.

If you could use some rest, refreshment and realignment (and escape from the cold!) come hang with us on retreat.

Registration is open now and limited to 15 people - we're creating an intimate, high-connection group of leaders you can really journey with. Early bird spaces close end of June.

I can't wait until August. I hope to high five you with my frankfurt fingers then!
